Mentor Interview

The responses to these questions are not direct quotes, as to maintain any accuracy I would have had to record. I did not. I also did not want to. I like to tell myself I have two mentors, as both individuals mentor me in equal quantities. Yesenia Rosas, volunteer coordinator, and Bella Latrach, special events coordinator. Yesenia started as Bella’s intern. The volunteer coordinator is responsible for coordinating volunteers. Can you believe it? Additionally, they might enter auction items into the various softwares, order gifts for the kids, or generally manage solicited donations. The special events coordinator coordinates special events. Shocking. These events are primarily for the charity, usually for awareness or fundraising. They are for the donors—not the children. That would be residential services. Both individuals enjoy their respective jobs. They consider it to be very satisfying, whether it is seeing the children themselves, or seeing quantifiable results in monetary form. They work 9am-5pm, usually, unless there’s a special event that warrants a later time.

Furthermore, relating to my own personal experience, everything is fine. I enjoy what I’m doing, and at this time I do not have any questions. No funny stories, as anything that could be articulated in a written manner without delivery would probably be boring.
